One-track mind

Here's what I've been thinking about lately:

So, yeah. That's pretty much it. I find it sorta difficult to explain what makes my obsession with this show different from my other shows. Obviously, I don't hold it to the same standards as LOST. Nor do I think it changed my life like Buffy. But, at the same time, I can't remember the last time I was this consumed with
excitement for a new season of something. I watched Season 1 online in January just because I was bored at school one afternoon. At first I thought it was a little ridiculous. But I watched all 12 episodes quickly. There was no doubt I was entertained. Then, in March, I decided to watch Season 1 again. And for the last couple of months, I have been True Blood-crazy. I bought the DVDs, rewatched all the eps again with my sister, then watched all the eps that had commentary. I have scoured the Internet for interviews, news, pictures, and promo clips. Season 2 is premiering in less than a week, and I feel like I have to force myself to keep busy just to make the time pass until I can see the new episode. And it is slightly confusing to me because I have no grand delusions about the show. For some reason, I am completely captivated by a telepathic waitress, her vampire boyfriend, and the world in which they live. I think I love it because it's fun, and that's all there is to it. That's why Alan Ball says he wanted to create True Blood in the first place. Stephen Moyer has gone from being someone I was barely even aware of (saw him a couple of summers ago in The Starter Wife, which I didn't even like) to someone I vote for about 50 times in a "Who's the hottest vampire?" contest because I feel so strongly that he should beat Robert Pattinson. I love Vampire Bill. And I do feel like Moyer's real-life relationship with co-star Anna Paquin adds something to the show. It makes it easy for me to become immersed in the story because I know that the love between Sookie and Bill is reality and not fantasy. Plus, my disdain for Twilight aside, vampires are hot. It's the whole biting thing :)
